Bright Future - Company history

Headquartered in Cologne, Germany, Bright Future GmbH was founded on January 3rd 2006 by Thomas Schwan, Petr Vlcek and Gerald Köhler.

In February 2006, the contract for developing the FIFA Manager series was signed with Electronic Arts and on March 1st the team entered the initial phase of development of FIFA Manager 07.

In September 2006, Bright Future and Electronic Arts launched the new international website www.fm07.de which offers constantly updated information and news all around the manager`s world as well as a highly attended forum in both German and English.

In November 2006, FIFA Manager 07 was released in 5 languages all across Europe and a number of other countries around the world.

In February 2007, FIFA Manager - Extra Time was released (English only), the first official add-on of the FIFA Manager series.

In May 2007, Bright Future started the development of their first next-gen console project.

In October 2007, FIFA Manager 08 was released and within a few days reached #1 in Germany's Media Control Charts.

On November 2nd, the international version of FIFA Manager 08 was released, including a Polish version for the first time. In Switzerland, FIFA Manager 08 reached #1, in France #4 and in England #8 of the local charts.

In April 2008, UEFA EURO 2008™ was released. Bright Future was involved developing the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360 versions.

On October 30th, FIFA Manager 09 was released. In Germany it reached #1 and in England #5 of the local charts

In March 2009, FIFA 09 Ultimate Team™ was released for Playstation 3 and XBOX 360. The fourth and last Update for FIFA MANAGER 09 is released.

On May 25th, the cooperation between Bright Future and RTL playtainment Ltd. is announced. First joint project is “Knigge – Spielend zum guten Benehmen”, which will be released for Nintendo’s DS in the third quarter 2009.

On November 11th, FIFA MANAGER 10 is released in Germany and immediately climbs to the the top of the sales charts.

In May 2010, the open beta phase of the browser game “FUSSBALLFAN – Das Spiel” ends and the games goes live. More than 10,000 players register in the first couple of days.
